I remember the day this blog started and is great to hear how many it has reached out to! Congrats on the milestone!

Journey Stories has reached 20,000 followers!
I am absolutely overwhelmed at the level of support this blog has gained over the past months. When I began Journey Stories, I never dreamed that it would take off like this. I consider this milestone testament to the universal power of Journey and it’s ability to touch so many people from all walks to life.
Journey has been garnering a lot of mainstream attention lately, from winning three awards at the Spike VGAS to its soundtrack being nominated for a Grammy. It is an honour and privilege to host a place where we can celebrate these achievements and everything that makes this game magical. Running this blog and seeing the way Journey has affected your lives has been truly fulfilling and moving, and for that I am deeply grateful.
My deepest, sincerest thanks to all my precious followers. You bring life to both Journey and this blog. Here’s to many more wonderful journeys for us all!

Playstation Plus has been fantastic in 2012. With my yearly membership already paying for itself over 4 times, each month they keep surprising us with more content. Check out May’s list of releases for Plus users, just after the break.

PlayStation Plus returns with another month of fantastic free games and awesome exclusives that have subscribers around the world believing in Plus. Kicking things off in May is new release Awesomenauts, FREE for PlayStation Plus subscribers. Watch the trailer below!

This colorfully action packed 2D online multiplayer battler with split-screen gameplay is releasing on May 1st. You’ll storm the game’s online battlegrounds and unlock loads of new abilities and characters for your arsenal. For more details on Awesomenauts come back to the blog a little later today — developer Ronimo will have more details on the game and will stick around to respond to your comments and questions.

PSN hit Trine 2 joins the free games selection in May, boasting widespread critical acclaim and a dazzling fantasy world. Don’t miss out on one of the prettiest titles in gaming — grab Trine 2 for free on Plus this month. Not enough for you? How about getting Rock of Ages for free when it releases on PSN? The acclaimed mix of tower-defense strategy and rolling ball physics (trust us, it’s fun will keep you in stitches with the game’s quirky humor and ultra-addictive gameplay modes.

May also brings the free release of PS one Classic Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Castlevania Chronicles. For many of you, Castlevania: SotN needs no introduction. If you’ve never had a chance to experience what many fans consider to be the definitive Castlevania game, you now have no excuse. Castlevania Chronicles, on the other hand, is based on the original Castlevania but is no less engaging than SotN, especially given its blistering challenge. Gamers who are looking for a classic challenge need look no further!

Saints Row The Third will be available on 5/8 as a PS3 Full Game download. If you missed out on this insane open-world epic last fall, you may want to jump on it as it will have a 20% discount when it releases.

Journey: A Review From The Heart

I don’t usually take the time to write game reviews, as I don’t usually have the time to dedicate to fully reviewing titles. However when ThatGameCompany announced they were working on a new project, my mind raced with the thoughts of what it could possibly be. After enjoying Flow and being amazed by Flower, ThatGameCompany is one of the few developers in the industry that always looks outside the box. So, when they made the announcement for Journey, I knew it would be something like we have never seen.

Rather than explain to you what Journey is, I am going to tell you what it meant to me and how elements of my real life somehow ended up appearing during my first play through.

While working late one night in early 2011 on our latest mobile game title The Simpsons, the phone rang from my father which I unfortunately missed and was unable to answer. Due to the time of the call, I decided to call him back the following day. A decision, that you would never expect could carry so much weight later on, and would change my life forever. Only hours before I was to call him back, I received word that my father had suddenly passed away and in an instant I felt the light inside me begin to darken. My father was a great man and he was not only my father, but my best friend and over the last year I have found myself wandering, fighting thoughts inside my head. Doing everything I can, searching and trying to find answers.

This is my latest tribute music video for Sucker Punch’s inFAMOUS 2. In my opinion it was the most under rated game of 2011, and not to mention had one of, if not the best soundtrack as well. Video features the lead track from the Blue album titles “Fade Away” by The Black Heart Procession that is featured in the end credits of the game. I have taken various cut scenes from the game and weaved them together with lead track. Thanks for checking it out and please like the video if you are on Youtube!

I will be tackling Battlefield 3 next, followed by Red Dead Redemption. Those with suggestions please feel free to let me know!
