Robin Hunicke’s thank-you speech after Journey wins Best Indie Game at the 2012 Spike VGAs.

“We would like to dedicate this award to the players who play Journey, because you bring Journey to life for everyone, every day, and for you we are truly, truly grateful…We made Journey for you to show you that games can be something different. Independent, experimental, moving, emotional, modern, inclusive, different. That’s why we made it. Thank you for believing in us, supporting in us, and making our dreams come true.”

YouTube App Launching Today For Free On PS3

During today’s Playstation Store update in North America, PS3 users will now have a brand new YouTube app for a free download under the My Channels section of their XMB. Those who have attempted to visit YouTube via the PS3 browser will be especially happy to hear this. I know myself I have exited my PS3 to only boot up my CPU to view videos. Now you will be not able to browse without issues from your Playstation, but will also be able to control it via your mobile devices.

See all the details over at the Playstation Blog.

Today we found that unlike previous God of War titles, this time around with Ascension we will see a multiplayer component in one of Sony’s premier franchises. Before you are quick  to dismiss this as another generic MP, read the details from the preview Joystiq.com had with the title.

“A familiar face appears on the screen, moments before a demo for God of War: Ascensionwas about to begin at a press event earlier this week. Zoomed in, the angry mug resembles every one’s favorite antihero, Kratos. But as the camera pans away, it becomes obvious that this is someone completely different.

Suddenly, a Cyclops bursts through a wooden door near the new character and the demo begins. The new character, decked out in armor inspired by the Greek God Poseidon, moves with the swiftness of Kratos. His sword pierces the lumbering ogre’s skin as he leaps away from attack from it’s giant club. In the blink of an eye, another character jumps onto screen and smashes the around around the beast with a giant hammer. The pair of soldiers mercilessly cut the Cyclops down, working together to mount the creature and slice its belly apart. As blood and guts slide out of the monster’s gut, the area around the two characters explodes into a set of orbs.

Without a moment of hesitation, the pair walk through the newly opened structure before them, coming to the mouth of a large canyon. In the distance, a giant one-eyed cyclops based on Polyphemus, son of Poseidon and Thoosa, attacks a large group of soldiers already in the middle of a fierce battle. But it isn’t a battle between A.I.; Ascension introduces God of War fans to team-based multiplayer.”

The sequel to the successful Rayman Origins has been leaked today!
Rayman Legends is shown working with certain figures resting on the Wii U’s tablet controller. Presumably, this will add Skylanders-like functionality to the beautiful brawling sequel to last year’s best platformer.

A heart is shown adding fluttering hearts to the environment while a Rabbid gives you the long-eared terrors to pummel in the game. The video also shows, tantalisingly, a statue of Ezio from Assassin’s Creed being lifted but not what it might do in-game. We can only assume that it enables some neck-stabbing.
