While there are plenty of big budget titles hitting in 2013, one of the titles I look forward to most is Japan Studios “Puppeteer”.

Kutaro’s adventure is set to begin September 10th, 2013, but have you learned the backstory of how this amazing and fantastical tale all began? No you haven’t? Watch the Puppeteer Story Trailer now before the Moon Bear King finds out!

Backstory:
One dark moonlit night, a young boy named Kutaro was carried away by the maleficent Moon Bear King to a black castle where the unlucky lad was transformed into a puppet.

Kutaro displeased the terrible tyrant, who devoured the boy’s wooden head and cast away his body.
But the headless hero was not alone, for he had discovered a very special pair of scissors to help him on his harrowing adventure to find his head, and his way home.

Puppeteer is a brand new franchise developed exclusively for PlayStation 3 by SCE JAPAN Studio. Set in a magical puppeteer’s theatre, this title will introduce you to a strange and fantastic world, where the environment is constantly changing. Players will enjoy a rich, dark fairytale where surprises lurk around every corner.

People who think we need to rush into the next generation of consoles, mere only look to Naughty Dog to see just how much this gen has to offer.

First shown during our San Diego Comic Con panel, if you listen carefully at the onset of the video you’ll hear the noises and sounds of Infected as they hunt Joel and Ellie. They manage to escape into the house of some guy in a gas mask. Are they safe?

The masked man turns out to be a new character named Bill, who knows Joel somehow and, as you can see in the cinematic, owes him a favor. What for? Well, we’re not talking about that yet but you’ll definitely be hearing more about Bill and what makes him tick in the months rolling up to launch. For starters, we also revealed that Bill is voiced by accomplished Hollywood actor, W. Earl Brown, who has appeared in numerous movies including There’s Something About Mary, Scream, Vanilla Sky, and the upcoming movie, The Lone Ranger. He also played Dan Dority in the acclaimed HBO series, Deadwood.

Today we found that unlike previous God of War titles, this time around with Ascension we will see a multiplayer component in one of Sony’s premier franchises. Before you are quick  to dismiss this as another generic MP, read the details from the preview Joystiq.com had with the title.

“A familiar face appears on the screen, moments before a demo for God of War: Ascensionwas about to begin at a press event earlier this week. Zoomed in, the angry mug resembles every one’s favorite antihero, Kratos. But as the camera pans away, it becomes obvious that this is someone completely different.

Suddenly, a Cyclops bursts through a wooden door near the new character and the demo begins. The new character, decked out in armor inspired by the Greek God Poseidon, moves with the swiftness of Kratos. His sword pierces the lumbering ogre’s skin as he leaps away from attack from it’s giant club. In the blink of an eye, another character jumps onto screen and smashes the around around the beast with a giant hammer. The pair of soldiers mercilessly cut the Cyclops down, working together to mount the creature and slice its belly apart. As blood and guts slide out of the monster’s gut, the area around the two characters explodes into a set of orbs.

Without a moment of hesitation, the pair walk through the newly opened structure before them, coming to the mouth of a large canyon. In the distance, a giant one-eyed cyclops based on Polyphemus, son of Poseidon and Thoosa, attacks a large group of soldiers already in the middle of a fierce battle. But it isn’t a battle between A.I.; Ascension introduces God of War fans to team-based multiplayer.”

A Tribute To My Father Through Journey - Feat Austin Wintory

A year ago today, I lost the my father suddenly and have been searching ever since for answers. Never in my wildest dreams, did I expect to find them while playing a video game. My father was the greatest man I have ever known, and it has been one of the hardest battles of my life. The experience I had with Journey, as strange as it sounds has allowed me to share a final moment with him that I never thought was possible.

This video serves not only as a tribute to him, but also as a means of healing on the anniversary of his passing. The video features various clips from ThatGameCompany’s Journey, as well quotes from my recent review of the title. Providing the score for this video, is Austin Wintory’s Final Confluence which is just one of the many amazing tracks featured on the games soundtrack.

I wish to thank Austin Wintory and Jenova Chen for permission to use the footage, as well as the beautiful music for this tribute. Also to everyone at ThatGameCompany, and everyone else who has contacted me about my review. Your words help in a time of hurt, and I am forever grateful.

I love you dad, and miss you everyday….
